|We ♥ Pigeon Poop". New Art Exhibition in Heidelberg, Germany.
There is a new art exhibition in Heidelberg, Germany celebrating the growing pigeon population in the city.
Titled, "We ♥ Pigeon Poop", the artist Charles Kaufman takes a satirical look at the growing piles of pigeon poop in Heidelberg.
The art exhibition is filled with over ten works of art featuring pigeons pooping and pigeon poop.
Colorful paintings, sculptures, art boxes, a moving carousel and more all with poop, pigeons and pigeons pooping.
Says artist Kaufman, "The five-story building we are located in has recently become a magnet for pigeons and poop. We have contacted the landlord many times to remedy the pigeon poop problem; however, nothing is done to clean up the pigeon poop mess and health hazard. So I decided to have a bit of fun with the poop situation and make and integrate an art exhibition with the pigeon poop".
On the sidewalk in front of the venue is a large rectangular, growing carpet of pigeon droppings. Kaufman has taken chalk and drawn a frame around the canvas of pigeon poop and written under the frame: "Vorsicht. Kunst." ("Caution. Art").
The "We ♥ Pigeon Poop" art exhibition is open to the public for free and can be seen 24 hours a day, seven days a week at Sophienstrasse 6-10 (one of the highest traffic streets) in Heidelberg. Located between the Heidelberg main post office and the Deutsch-Amerikanisches Institut (DAI).
